Non-commercial partnership Producers Guild of Russia was founded on September 14, 1996.

Nowadays Producers Guild of Russia unites major studios as well as multiple independent producers.
The Guild's main activities include:

  • creating unified legal framework to regulate activities of producers and movie-making companies;
  • initiating new legislative acts in the field if cinema industry, focusing among other aspects on intellectual property rights
  • representing and defending corporate interests of producers in various branches of government, on legislative and executive levels;
  • interacting with all the professional public and commercial unions in order to regulate controversial points on the dynamically developing cinema market (including creative work market).

  
An important part of the Guild's activity is taking part in various events held under the aegis of International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF). The Guild has officially been its member since 1997. FIAPF membership allows the Guild to receive all the necessary information regarding events and tendencies in cinema industry worldwide.


Since 2009 Renat Davletyarov is the President of the Guild.
